I have created a Virtual Master Data (and activated it) and I am not able to assign it to a Planning area. I have also created a Planning level using the input Master Data of that Virtual Master Data. But I dont see it in the Master Data list in Excel UI. So How to assign a Virtual MDT to a Planning Area.

Issues in Filter

I am using Unconstrained heuristics to generate the Production receipts.
In the planning view while running its not considering my filter values.
Also I have the following error message.
Invalid sourcing for location 210, product 1171034 and time period 2016 W08: Sum over quotas is 2.000000 (outside of allowed deviation)

While creating the dashboard in IBP we are finding that all the values are shown with 3 places of decimals We tried to select "0" in "Display Settings" of the keyfigure in the Decimal place. However it didn't seem to work correctly. Please help.

IBP Inventory
Hi,
I have 2 queries. Plz help.
1st Query -
I have run the inventory optimizers and system generated the safety stock values. However the safety stock values change when run in different weeks on keeping the other inputs same. e.g. I ran multi-stage inventory optimization last week and this week keeping the same configuration but I got different values of safety stock for the same periods. Used the rolling planning horizon. Attached are the screenshots. So want to understand the logic.
Last week - Safety stock was there from W2-2016 onwards. Lets take W4-2016 for comparison, safety stock is 93.
Current Week - Safety stock is from W3- 2016 onwards. For w4-2016, safety stock is 99.
2nd Query -
In the same planning area, I changed the values of IO forecast error CV, which is one of the inputs, for the entire planning period for the simulation purpose. When I ran the simulation, value of input - IO Forecast error CV in only 3 periods changed after the simulation updated the values and other periods restored their earlier values. Is it due to some settings?

Purge Operator
Hi,
Is it possible to use purge operator on Selective KFs?
For example, say I have sales history and Stat forecast results from Jan, 2014, and I don't want to Keep any Stat Forecast info prior to Jan, 2016. however I want to keep my Sales History informations. Is this possible to achieve this?

How to assign Roles & Permission for Master Data in IBP 3.0.3.0
Hi All,
Our Client is using 3.0.3 version of IBP and while assigning the roles and permission we found out that unlike IBP4 we could not see the dropdown "Assigned Master Data"(where we could assign the master data) in IBP 3.0.3. We were able to assign roles and permission for Key figures under "Selected Key Figures" in IBP3 but not could not find the "Assigned Master Data" . Please let me the know how we can assign roles and permission for Master Data in IBP 3.0.3. Looking forward to your reply.

SAP Sample Planning Area Copy
Hello All
I am not able to copy from the SAP Sample Planning Area. The copy button is greyed out to copy the SAP Sample Planning Area.
When I select "Edit Active and Inactive" drop down under "Planning Area and Details" , I get a message "There is no existing planning area in this system. You have to create a time profile first and then Click Create New button on the Planning Area and Details screen".
Please do let me know how to copy from the SAP Sample Planning Area.

Fatal error when uploading material master csv file via the data integration tile

When I try to upload a csv file of the material master via the data integration tile, I come up with the following error:
Let me inform you that:
- I already tried to cut some large values (they were not so large though)
- I followed the structure of the right template since I downloaded it from the system and I use the right separators. The csv file's data is also put into columns.
- I have already uploaded a time profile

Unconstrained Planning
Hi Experts
I am using S&OP supply.I have the following issues.Need your expert opinion.
1.While doing Unconstrained planning it’s not considering the existing stock on Hand. Suppose at DC I have inventory of 100 qty .
If I get demand of 200.I should get the transportation receipt qty of 100 not 200.Now its generating 200 qty.
2. Issue in capacity planning. It’s not updating the Available Capacity, Capacity Consumption and utilization Percentage Keyfigure in planning view.

Issue with Local Members in Versions
Dear experts,
I am currently experiencing an issue regarding local members when working with Versions in the Excel Planning Views.
In Version "Base Version" my Local Member behaves just fine. It is a simple calculation that I want to attach to a specific key figure for all planning level combinations in the planning view.
However, when I leave the Base Version and open a created version, the local member disappears. I entered the EPM Edit Report and tried to configure the local member to show up again, but it did not work for me.
Also, in the version I was not able to recreate the simple local member that works just fine in the Base Version. Whereas in the Base Version the Member is attached to every planning level combination, in the version it is simply put at the very bottom and only appears for the last respective planning level combination of the planning view.
Any guidance on how to deal with this issue? Thanks a lot!

IBP 6.1 Master Data with External Systems
Hi Guys,
I am working in a new project to use IBP 6.1 and we are starting with the design of the Data Model.
According to the requirements, there are some Master Data that will receive data from another/external system. They want to define in the final version as "External MDT" because they receive directly data from that external source. But in the first steps of the project, to reduce complexity, they accept extract data to an excel file from that system and import in IBP. In this case you can define these Master Data as "Simple MDT", right?
But then, in the final deployment, they want this MD as "External". According with out colleagues, once you define the Master Data as "Simple", you cannot change in the future to "External", is that correct?
Could you explain what is the best solution for this case?

Test Data export using IBP API
Hi all,
I want to test data export using IBP API (getDataExport API which uses a RESTful web service).
I have checked official documentation and SCN post.
Before doing anything in SAP ECC, I want to test this API with a simple interface. To do so, I used SoapUI, but I can’t get it to work :
Steps I have done so far:
- In IBP:
- I have assigned to my user a visibility filter for the planning area, with no filter rules defined.
- I have a Key Figure “CONSENSUSDEMANDBASEQTY” defined @ PERPRODCUST (Keys are PERIODID, PRDID, CUSTID,
- In SoapUI:
- I have created a new REST project. I have tested 2 URLs :
- https://xxxxxx.ibp.ondemand.com/sap/sop/sopfnd/services/analytics/sopa.xsjs (from SCN post)
- https://xxxxxx.ibp.ondemand.com/sap/sop/sopfnd/services/analytics (from official documentation)
- I have created a new REST project. I have tested 2 URLs :
I am not sure which one is correct?
- I have specified my IBP credentials in the request properties :

- I submit this request with "POST" method, but I get the following error messages, according to the URL I use :
- "Error 404 - Not found"
- "Error 500 - Internal server error"
Can someone help me with this?

IBP-PA activation error while configuring Supply scenario

I am getting the following errors while activating the planning area after setting up Master Data and KFs for Supply Planning.
E - Failed to create calculation scenario "SAPSOPG100"."SOPT02PAT02PA"
E - An exception was raised.
E - SQL Message: column store error: fail to create scenario: [34011] Inconsistent calculation model;CalculationNode (6_28) -> attributes -> calculatedAttribute (CAPADEMAND) -> expression:Expression is not valid: Evaluator: syntax error in expression string;expected TK_ID,parsing 'fixed([here]= SUM( "CAPADEMAND$S" ), 12, 6)',Details (Errors):

- CalculationNode (2_13) -> attributes -> calc
The 3rd error indicates that there is a syntax error in KF- CAPADEMAND & CAPAOVERLOADALERT.
However, I could not locate the error in the KF calculation definitions. The screenshots for the same are as follows:
1) CAPADEMAND
2) CAPAOVERLOADALERT
Am I missing something here? or this there some other reason for behind the errors.

Modeling open orders for supply run
Are there any standard key figures in SAP4 planning area using which we can model situations where there are goods in transit or open purchase orders scheduled for future months and we would like those to be considered while running the optimizer algorithm?
If there is nothing standard are there any suggestions as to how to do this can be done in IBP?
